I don't think they are scared of humans at all as they probably just go on their merry old way.. some (the stinging ones, like the female mosquitoes) might see us as a meal lol... but I think a lot come out at night because they live at night and the light and daylight send them into hiding..so when you are turning on the light they run for the best hiding places that they can find, from the light not from you....but as for you having all those bugs there, if it bugs you (pardon the pun) get your landlord to have that place fumigated pronto and not only your apt but the building, as in a few months they will only find their way in again if the whole building is not done.... sounds to me like you should be more scared of them... nasty things, lol..good luck!!

Yes i quite agree with mr Dane. Insects have little more than a swollen nerve cluster for a central nervous system and for all intents and purposes, can not feel fear as we know it. They have an inborn instinct to hide from things that their ancestors took the pains to recoginze as a threat. And yes some insects are fearless to a fault: the tick, mosquito, hornets, and warrior ants among many others. I don't suggest you test their courage though as the result is often quite painfull.

NOPE! They treat us like any threat if we are truly a threat. Look at the Africanized honey bees. No fear at all. hehe

they don't have a limbic system, so i assume anything that you might call fear is just a response to large moving objects
