From what I have read, he was widely read and very intelligent.
He gathered many of the brightest academic people in America to advise him. It would seem that innate intelligence and the ability to process and evaluate the advice of brilliant people
should be important for a president running a complex country such as the United States.

he stood his ground in 1961 when the russian's put missle's that could hit just about anywhere in the us of a. the russian's backpedaled out of cuba. he loved this country and it's people.
