Addition of acid to K2Cr2O7 leads to the formation of hydrated chromium (VI) oxide, very powerful oxidant and carcinogen:
K2Cr2O7 + 2H(+) --> 2CrO3 + 2K(+) + H2O

No it will not. Phenol looks like an alcohol but it is not. An alcohol reacts with acidified potassium dichromate (VI) to give an aldehyde which is further oxidised to a carboxylic acid.

the acid is propanoic acid so the colorless liquid is propanol 1-Propanol is a organic alcohol with the formula of CH3CH2CHOH. It is often misnamed propan-1-ol or called by the common name n-propanol. As with other primary alcohols, 1-propanol can be oxidized into a carboxylic acid using chromic acid. This reaction creates propanoic acid. While both 1-propanol and propanoic acid are commercially available, the oxidation of 1-propanol into propanoic acid is a good example of oxidizing an alcohol into a carboxylic acid for lab courses.
