Not completely. There are still some patriarchal systems out there, though they've considerably lessened. But, yes, feminism helped.

I think feminism is chipping away at the patriarchy in some cultures (European) but for all the noise in the US, I don't think it's affected the political, business, and religious areas of our life like it could. Our country and corporations and churches are still primarily run by males, and that isn't going to change anytime soon.
What feminism has affected in the US is the choices women and men now have, we now can work at many occupations, make some money, and leave people who we don't like, instead of being trapped with them for the rest of our lives.
Now, in the US, both men and women have to treat others in their workplace with respect, even if in private, they don't respect others. A few women are being elected to political office, but it's still pathetic compared to many other countries. It's interesting how many people, both men and women, have drifted away from their churches. I don't see why that has happened, unless churches aren't keeping up with what is important to Americans.
So has feminism destroyed patriarchy? Nope. But it's having an effect on it. Do I want to see a matriarchy? Nope. Absolute power corrupts, no matter who has the power.

The "patriarchy" is a convenient way to discriminate against ALL MEN & to account for all of the areas women do not experience equal outcome with men.
Natural ability or talent?
Nope... patriarchal conspiracy.
Training, education, & experience contributing to different outcomes?
Nope... patriarchal conspiracy.
Free choice of occupations resulting in different career choices?
Nope... patriarchal conspiracy.
See, it's never the fault of a woman's personal choice. It's ALWAYS the evil patriarchy keeping her down.
Women have all of the options men do nowadays (& more so) & yet choose occupations that tend to be more flexible rather than higher paying.
Feminists call that discrimination & force new laws down our throats.
Like I said... It's more convenient to place the blame on others than on yourself.
EDIT:
My response got too many thumbs up... you realize I was being sarcastic about the "patriarchal conspiracy" right?
It's the choice of the woman giving her the lot in life... NOT the patriarchal boogyman.
It's a nice way to deflect blame & make yourself feel better... but the "patriarchy" is nothing but a convenient scapegoat.

Feminism only receives the power that men give it.
Since the early 1900s, women have been wearing shorter and shorter skirts, and offering more and more casual sex to men. This is the only reason feminism has gained. No sex to men = no power to women.
As soon as women turn more conservative - it is already happening with the "wait until marriage movement" - feminism will wane. And this is good.

Actually, I think patriarchy was rare to begin with. Most families are held together by women--mostly because they tend to be natural nurturers, as well as natural she-bears.

Errrr...not even close. How many American Presidents have been women? Look around, how many world leaders are female? 2% perhaps???
The most powerful jobs almost invariably go to men. Men still hold the balance of power, and too many greedily hang onto it for all it's worth.
Patriarchy is responsible for the mess patriarchy created in the first place.
