Well, those guys above me seems to have no idea about your problem. There's nothing wrong in your computer to scan. It is just because of your connection speed. Your ISP is not stable and the server runs down often. Due to this, the ports responsible for your downloads are closed, hence breaking your download links. When your download links are broken, the transfer rate automatically decreases, when the transfer rate reaches 0, the port used to boost this up is closed, so the download stops, and it maybe completed only upto the point where the link is broken. This maybe the same reason if you have experienced varying speeds when you surf the net.

Firefox then Opera. Google Chrome is good but has lots of bugs. Internet Explorer is worst of the lot.

I don't know a lot about computers but I would do a Norton 360 virus scan, Clean up files, defragment your disks and go through your add/delete program list and find anything you haven't used in 8 months or so and delete it and delete anything you don't know what it is at first glance. I did that to my computer last week and it's a lot faster and I free'd up 86% of disk space.

you need to find a program like flashget. if the connection drops, flashget will auto re-connect and finish the download.

clean your computer. get a registry cleaner and don't clean a "dll" if you did not know how to re-route
