I name the ones that seem to have the most personality
My betta: Monet
My Mollies: Lucky, Goldie, Blondie, Big Mama, Flash, and Punk.
Platies: Amarilla, Big Red and the babies dont have names yet.
My Pleco, Yoyo Loach and Gourami are named, well Pleco, Yoyo and Gourami respectively. There's only one of each, so naming them is a little pointless, but rather than saying "the pleco blah blah blah" it has turned in to "Pleco blah blah blah"

Yes, people really name there fish....
Just a while ago, I came across a question stating "what should I name my fish? Betty or courtney?" I named my fish Athena, from the goddess of wisdom, and Thunder, because the name sort of stuck for some reason. Good question ;)

Sure, why not name your fish? It's a fun way to get to know them! They all may seem the same, but every single fish has a radically different personality ( very obvious in Betta fish. )
My Bettas are named in pairs:
Tribute & Resurrection
Cause&Effect
Mercy&Oblivion
Luck&Chance
and I have SO MANY other fish it's impossible to name them all, the most common ones for me to mention are my guppies ( Marina, Slade, Irony, Twyst, Jolt and Thunder ) and My Bettas.

I do like your Names! Is Houdini good at leaping out?! I surely have 11 white cloud minnows all referred to as jim 3 bristle nostril catfish all referred to as Raymond or ray for short. A male woman pair of Australian empire gudgon referred to as bruce and sheila and a couple of gold loaches referred to as Arnold. I call a similar species a similar call Coz they do no longer look to be elementary to tell aside. Oh and a Cory catfish referred to as Natalie she's named after my lady chum!

I do! But not my tetras.
I have previously had:
Brown speckled male molly - Mrs Fishie...*cough*
Black male molly - Dr Fish
White male molly - Mr Fish
Black and white speckled molly - McFlurry
I now have:
Albino cory catfish - Glados
Bronze cory catfish - Poppy (coz it has a hint of red in it :) )
Peppered cory catfish - Frogger
Planning:
Panda cory catfish - Zorro :)!
Plus, I had 3 tetras for around a week before I got a bigger shoal, and I let my friend name them while he was in a bad mood...He came up with c*ck, hate and anger. Haha. The names didn't stick, surprisingly.

the names of my fishes are related to circumstances when i got them.
one flowerhorn fish is called '1-inch wonder'. i called him so because within 7 hours of buying it, he developed a nuchal hump which would have quadrupled the price of the fish.
another is called 'fifth' because i got it as a gift during the fifth anniversary of our group of fish enthusiasts
another is XTR 640. i called him so because he was the first of my fishes to ride our car with a plate number bearing his name.
