How has wrestling changed since you've been watching it?

The most noticeable things:

-Tag Teams, Stables, and "Kayfabe" were all main aspects of wrestling in the past. Now, they are fading away with the Internet and the new ideal of self-reliance in terms of wrestlers and their characters.

-Submissions were more incorporated into wrestling matches, not just in "technical" wrestlers like Benoit and Bret Hart. Everyone down to Yokozuna did submissions and holds beyond a headlock.

i've been watching wrestling for a good 10 years or so, that's half of my life.Literally. I'm 20 years old now and I have to say, wrestling has come a long way from what I used to watch. I watched Austin kick Vince's ***, Austin kick 'takers ***, Austin kick EVERYONE'S ***! The Rock too was great though I disliked him some times just becuase there were others wrestlers I liked more than him.
It has decreased in entertainment. Instead of the WWE being the 'Led Zeppelin' of wrestling it has become the, sorry to say, 'Motley Crue' of wrestling. Sure it LOOKS pretty: the stage, the ring, the tron and everything else, but like Motley Crue, three albums later, they suck! It might be that the company is pushing the young talent to 'carry' the company too soon or the talent just isn't there. Whatever it is, it sucks. I still watch it just because I want to say in the future, "Yeah, i remember when Y2J beat Cena, Batista AND Orton in the same night." I still give it the benefit of the doubt but they need to pull out some new things and give others a push for the title.
It has changed a lot 'cause the WWE KNOW they don't have ANY competition. They will realize that they do when it's too late and TNA has everything going for them. Sucks...

Well, I've been watching wrestling since 2003. In 2003, I thought the story lines were interesting, but now the story lines aren't that good. Especially, when they wanted Vince McMahon to die in the limo explosion incident. I thought that was stupid! And a lot of the wrestlers WWE had back then are gone, like Goldberg, The Rock, Brock Lesnar. And they had a lot of good couples back then, like Matt Hardy and Lita, Kane and Lita, and Trish Stratus and Christian. Right now, there are barely any good WWE couples. I think they should have more couples. I would really like to see John Cena and Maria be a couple. But I think what changed WWE the most was when Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit died. I always used to cheer for them during their matches and they were very entertaining in the ring. I think if they were both still alive, WWE would still be like how it was in 2003.

Wrestling has gotten far simpler since when i started watching it which was in the late 90's early 2000s. Since about 2004 there has been less risky moves and matches. Characters aren't as developed as they used to be. Characters are exactly their gimmicks and that's about it. Look at MVP He's got his gimmick but he just came out of nowhere they didn't build him up or anything. Kane they had a whole storyline introducing him and everything like that. Now they just throw new wrestlers at you and tell you to like or hate them. There's no risky moves in wrestling now either. They've banned all sorts of chokeholds, the 450 splash, and every piledriver with the exception of the tombstone. It's changed alot and honestly not for the better. It's nowhere near as entertaining as it used to be.

Wrestling kind of helped me through the bad times. Like everytime I was mad or I was in pain I would watch wrestling and it would make me feel better. wrestling is a prt of me that I can't let go. But I do wish they had some more actual wrestling and the old wrestlers.

I haven't been watching it long only since the late 90's, the storylines have changed drastically and not for the better. They're okay but much better just a few yrs back.

Back in the day it was all about wrestling now it's basically a bunch of guys wanting to hurt each other. It reminds me of a soap opera because all they do is run their freaking mouths. I say shut the heck up and wrestle!

its gotten a lil more controversial. like the death angle. its more soapy than ever. the wrestling part is barely ever there. seems as if the creative writers lack the competitiveness that they used to have during the monday night wars.

I started watching it about 5 years ago. I grew up with it but never really had an interest in it till I got older. In 2003, Steve Austin was the sh*t. Mick Foley was hardcore, Eric Bischoff ran RAW, Trish Stratus was fighting Jazz. O man good memories. Its turned into sh*t.

The fancy bright lights on the titan trons make it seem like a gay sport.
The talent aren't being pushed or it's because they aren't talented.
The storylines are lame and there just isn't any excitement anymore.
