childbirth and a cessarean, (which does not hurt until afterwards but is far worse then how you feel through the entire child birth process)one miscarriage , in which they could not get the baby out of me... thats the worst pain in the world. I lived in college at the time, I was really young had not been married very long and my husband was away. I was doubling over in pain and I actually had no idea what was going on. Our hospital isn't to far from there actually so I ended up walking myself to the hospital all the while having to live with the pain. It ended up taking me two hours to get there. They had me on morphine and everything else they could possibly give me, I literally almost bled to death. Afterwards they sent me home and I ended up coming back to the hospital. I had to have a d&c done. Sorry to be so graphic but this was the worst pain I have ever felt. I think it made it even worse because it was not only physical but emotionally painful too. Atleast with having a baby you know the reward of it all. which gives you the incentive to get through the pain. I guess thats what makes it worth all the pain in the end, but when you have to have your dead baby taken from you. That makes it all the while harder to cope with the pain. So emotionally and physically that would be my worst amount of pain

I've gone through childbirth, dental pain, broken bones (in traction for 10 days), arthritis, bad knees, ankles and feet.

But the absolute worst pain I have ever had to endure was that of Sciatica. It surpassed all of them by a long, long shot. I couldn't believe it could actually happen, but each and every time I moved, it nearly knocked me out. And this went on for 3 1/2 months. I've had it a total of 4 times, and thankfully, the last 3 didn't last that long.

There is always the childbirth/kidney stone arguement between men and women. I personally have done both. Childbirth (even the 10 lb 7 oz baby) took less time, and certainly had a more productive ending.
But at their worst, they are about equal amounts and types of pain. Kidney take longer to pass.

Labor pains are pretty intensive but I had meds that took care of that.
Migraine headaches are way high on the list. But with meds are bearable.
Gall bladder attack is very very bad.
A really bad day of Fibromyalgia is probably the worse. It is a chronic and long lasting pain and there is not a pain med in the world that can stop it on a bad day. The pain is intense with sharp shooting pains and an all over throb. Really really bad stuff.

My foot was crushed... heel broken into 9 pieces... it was 6 weeks before the swelling went down enough to do the surgery. I came out of surgery, they took me to my room, and the anesthesia wore off... they were to have hooked me up to a morphine pump, but someone screwed up the orders... I came to with no pain medication... they had placed an H plate & 8 screws in my heel... I actually bent the bars on the sides of the hospital bed. They didn't know why I hadn't passed out, they said anyone else would have. All I can say is I spent to many years learning to deal with pain, and refused to let it get the best of me. I was always taught to handle pain... not to let pain handle me... Stubborn to the end!

Two miscarriages at 5 and1/2 months in one year, and the birth of my first child = Labour pains. After that Cesarean sections had to be performed. Had hard stomach muscles form dancing, so was up and driving the car in three days. Thank God.

I injured my shoulder at the gym, lifting weights. At first, the problem was minor pain, but then it was apparent that every movement that I did was causing added stress. My rotator cuff was damaged, and it was very painful, and I could get no relief. I went to three different doctors (two are specialists in sports medicine), physiotherapists, chiropractors, plus I was on medication. Eventually, the problem worked itself out (but none of the treatment helped). Tip: uprights rows are hard on the shoulders and should be avoided.

headaches. Constant, unrelenting headaches in the last nine months...I have gone through hell in my life, been shot in the head (not by Cheney) gone down on a cycle twice (not at the same time, and not with the same cycle...I am a slow learner), Broken about every bone in my body at one time or another, run half my hand through a table saw (not the most careful carpenter you will ever meet), walked smack dab into the garage door tonight ...1/2 open, head down reading the mail and whop! Knocked me out! I have swung a 5 pound sledge at shelving during remodeling, missed and hit my shin (that hurts, don't try it, not for amatures!) (I must admit that so far, I have not had a baby, and at my age, it is doubtful that I will)...but for me, the latest round of headaces are horrendous, blinding, tears running down my face pain! And I NEVER cry! I go to the dentist and refuse to have blocks shot into my gums, just drill away or pull away, I will survive! Hell, I had a root canal without blocks...but these headaches are the worst pain I have every had....or maybe I am becoming a pansy in my old age...who knows. Goldwing

I just read Isotope...she wins!

I always thought it was my 2 days of labor with my first born until my gall bladder went bad. It wasn't just stones, it was infected. I have a nice 12 inch scar from that ordeal. The Dr. wanted to see stones on the x-rays which never really showed up until it was almost too late to do anything. I suffered for 2 years with it.
