Dave pursuing a solo career wasn't why he parted with Van Helen. Apparently there was problems with him and the Van Halen brothers, but i don't what they were. Does anyone?

I know this one!!! Whoo hoo!!!

I am a fan of Michael Jackson. They (Van Halen and Roth) didn't agree on doing a song with Michael. The song was "Beat It" and it started everything!

I'm not sure about this, but Michael asked Van Halen in person to do the song and Van Halen kept it from Roth, because he wanted to do something different with the band. Roth didn't like the new sound and he surely wouldn't have liked it to sound "pop" for that matter. This started their feud and eventually Roth left for a solo career.

When I think about it now, I guess they disagreed on the path the band was taking at that time.

This is kinda similar to what happened when Alan Wilder left Depeche Mode. Also here the band disagreed on the change the band was about to make, going from electronic to pop and rock.
