I can.
It takes more that just happiness and being positive. And sometimes the hard hearts fall back into their old ways. You have to be persistent.

I do not know what do you mean by happy/positive people. The happy and positive people are by nature like that. They are happy therefore positive or vice versa. But how they can soften the hardest heart, is not understood. Yes, if hardest hearted person is the one who is not pliable, then I am afraid the happy/positive people can not soften it eventually. The happy/positive people can certainly improve the atmosphere of hopelessness and gloom by there presence and the people coming in their contact may also turn positive to some extent but softening the hardest heart is very much debatable.

There is no getting around it...positive people naturally carry the power to soften even the stoniest of hearts.

love and acceptance softens a hardened heart.....I don't think being particularly happy or positive has that much of an effect on a hardened heart unless the person is seeking to be more positive.

I thought my stepdad was the devil for 39 years he was every thing bad. My mom begged us to accept him so after growing up we finally did. he got cancer in 04 i did not think some one that evil could died. We stayed by his side to the end I have never saw any one change in those 12 months like he did. We keeped him happy he could not understand why we would even help him. I don't think he understood love till then.We loved him with all our hearts and he finally saw. I thank god for that.

No. But I bet they can be darn annoying to someone with a 'hard' heart. Let's redefine 'hard' heart: Do you think a happy person can change the heart of a psychopath (aka sociopath)? a manipulator? a person who only cares about uno numo?

I think its a pipe dream; no one can change anyone else unless they want to be changed.

I would submit that these people can certainly make a huge impact on impenitent hearts, however, it must be up to the owners of hardened hearts to acknowledge that a change must be made.

No, actually it works the other way around.
People start out happy, then life comes, and all the joy gets sucked out of them until they are nothing but empty shells walking around. Work, eat, sleep; work, eat, sleep... Then they die.

The heart would have to be open, to want to change.
