Would you know my name.
If I saw you in heaven?
Would it be the same
If I saw you in heaven….
Beyond the door
There's peace I'm sure.
And I know there'll be no more...
Tears in heaven.
Eric Clapton
Tears in Heaven, song about his young son who died in an accident.

Beautiful song...one of my favorites.
My favorite verse is:
Would you hold my hand
If I saw you in heaven
Would you help me stand
If I saw you in heaven
I'll find my way, through night and day
Cause I know I just can't stay
Here in heaven

Every time I hear that song I tear up. It was played at a friends funeral. She was 16 when she died. Looking at the bright side shes in a better place now.

The most beautiful heart felt song I have ever heard.Makes your heart ache and makes you want to hug your kids even tighter to you.I am sure a tear was shed with every word he wrote.

Yeah, I absolutely love this song. I love the part about "There's peace I'm sure". It's like Eric Clapton is trying to reassure himself even more than his son.

It is beyond beautiful! I remember when this happened and when the song came out....I cried and cried. I also remember that Eric, aged tremendously...between that death and the time that he recorded this song!

I don't think I ever heard the tune but I like the words. I know that Eric was very broken about his son's death.

Yes, it's absolutely beautiful. How sad that he lost his child. His words describe how many of us feel when a loved one is gone.
