The world began in Genesis and ends in Revelations, where it has a new beginning that shall never end.
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1)
"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea." (Revelations 21:1)

On the basis of the early explorers, the world starts on the coastlines of western europe (where they departed from) and ends in the Pacific Ocean, probably New Zealand or any of the myriad islands of the Pacific. I would suggest Pitcairn Island as the end of the world, as that was probably the last place discovered.

In Geneva, Switzerland, there’s a place called "le bout du monde" (world’s end) which is just next to a place called "la grande fin" (the great end).
