I live in a small town, so there is not a lot of problem with that, however what does mother me the most, is those that pass me, and then pull in front of me so they can make a right turn.
I have to wonder is 3 seconds really that important?

Yes, I do. It seems to be very common in the larger cities and they aren't even stopping at crosswalks for children either!

I have to wonder, do they not see the harm they can bring? Just to get at the front of the line, I have seen people do weird things and without concern for others!

To me, this is boggling as I would have a terrible time knowing that I caused harm to another....out of my own selfishness or, hurriedness! Especially, a child! I would never get over something like that! So, yes....I have problems with the way many people drive at stop signs, school zones and so on.

I live in a town of about seventy thousand (give or take) and have set with Police Officers and watched at several stop signs... If they wrote every ticket they could at those signs they wouldn't have time to answer calls. I'm not talking about hiding to watch I mean when we were sitting in plain sight on the cross street.

The sad truth is that people have totally lost respect for the law or else have decided that it only applies to others, not them.

I'd have to say yes, I have a problem with it. As a matter of fact it makes me quite angry when I think of the potential damage to life and property it presents.

I don't have a problem with them because I know the people in this town are the worst drivers I have ever seen. They don't know the law about 4 way stops so I make sure they aren't pulling out in front of me when it's my turn. I motion them to go when it's their turn. They turn wide too. They don't know they are supposed to turn into the same lane, signal, and then move into the lane they want. As a matter of fact most don't know what signals are. As you can imagine there are accidents here everyday. I think I am the best defensive driver in this town!

I do see that happen. The thing that really bugs me is the folks that do a "rolling" stop right by our school. We can sit in our car on break and watch one vehicle after another run the stop sign right there by the school. One of those is a 4 way stop.

NO...if I let this trivial crap start my day off badly, it will be downhill from there. I figure that if someone feels the need to cheat at a 4 way, they are in a bigger hurry than I am, and I am not going to have a dent in my wonderful "new" car on the grounds of priciple. NO way Jose1

We don't have then in Australia. In South Africa, we have them, and we go 'in turns' . The first one to arrive, goes then the next and so on. But there are no stop signs. Just no lights.
A sign says '4 way stop'. If you can drive in South Africa, you can drive anywhere, trust me, try asking other South Africans.

Yes, I was involved in an accident with a woman who slowed down, but did not stop at the 4-way stop in the country. She broad sided me and the glass from the wreck got into my eye.She said she forgot to look my way because her son was talking to her.

Definitely! We learned the rules way back when, and they really worked when followed properly. These days it's like Russian Roulette getting thru' one, and you never know who's going to decide that they're simply not going to wait their turn.

Stop signs, running red lights, passing on the shoulder, riding someones bumber, speeding and one of my personal favorites, not using their directional signals! I often wonder where(if anywhere) the people mentioned above got they're driver license anyway? People have lost all respect for other people and that is mainly because they have LOST RESPECT IN THEMSELVES!
