She's very soft-spoken and shy but is very sweet and kind. Just very naive and inexperienced when it comes to the "dating game" -- has no clue what to do, and just gets really shy when it comes to talking to guys or asking them out. She'll come to you for advice on what to do.

If you were her friend, would you think it's pathetic since she's in her late 20's, or is it endearing?

Endearing. Give her guidance if you are her friend. It's not pathetic. Try to make her more comfortable and confident.

I would think it was endearing. It's much nicer to wait to date and have some sense of yourself rather than just hop into the dating game with whoever you meet.

I'd say endearing, but that depends on what type of people she chooses as her new "friends".
If she makes bad choices because she wants a "fast education", I'd soon say PATHETIC.

No, it's not pathetic. It's just part of who she is. When she gets more dating experience, she'll be more sure of herself.

I would just let her go her own way. It's only her control to how she adapts and reacts to certain things.
