The only person I can think of who I know is voting for the Liberals is my father and his greedy bigot of a wife. They run a very successful small business and love Workchoices now that they can pay their committed long term employees less. They think they are such geniuses. Well, when people are earning less wages they spend less so it's just going to come back to bite them.

Anyway, I don't know anyone else who'd admit to voting for the Liberals. I'm voting Greens and Labor. The Liberals deceive on every level, including their role in managing the economy which is very short sighted and exaggerated. I have much more confidence in Wayne Swan, Labor treasurer - he's an excellent economist who is listening to the RBA and recognises the long term repercussions of a skills shortage and the importance of boosting productivity through investment in education and technology (not just broadband - e.g. renewable energy technologies). Hands down!

In short, Labor.

In a bit more depth, in the House of Reps it'll be Greens first, Labor ahead of the Coalition, and Family First last (don't want those religious nutters going anywhere near my democracy, thank you very much!)

In the poor overlooked Senate it'll be much the same. I always vote below the line, and I'll be putting Greens/Dems/Climate Change/Secular Party candidates at the top, religious nuts at the bottom.

It seems like the people who are voting for the Coalition only care about the economy and national security. I'm much more worried about threats to our freedom from within (restricted civil rights, a govt. that lies and misleads) than from outside, and the widening gap between rich and poor/sad state of our education system. These _might_ not improve under Labor, but they _certainly_ won't under the Coalition. And getting the
progressive minor parties back in control of the senate is so, so, so important!

The love affair with Labor is simply sickening and KRudd is just plain annoying. At least you can take the mickey out of Little Johnny - his eyebrows and his voice. KRudd is just boring and annoying. I don't understand how people can be so ready to bring in a different government when the current one was voted in with such a huge majority at the last election. People don't know what they want, that's what it is. KRudd is hardly any different to Latham - at the end of the day they're all still Labor men. KRudd just knows how to keep his mouth shut. Also, this tactic of copying the government is very, very clever. I just hope people see through it on election day. Where's the alternative? If I have no choice, I guess I'll be sticking with the government already there

I missed out on voting at the last federal election because I thought I'd sent off my form, but actually hadn't. Am all enrolled this time and my vote is going to the devil I know. Not some untried union puppet who seems to be offering nothing different to the government and there is a real chance its all talk and their real agenda is actually VERY different.

If you really want things to change a change in the House of Reps will achieve nothing. All it will do is replace one imbalance with another. Are people forgetting ALL the states and territories have Labor governments? Isn't it scary - the prospect of Labor in charge of EVERYTHING?

Liberal/National in the House of Reps and Family First in the Senate for me - Bob Brown and his Greens with the balance of power? No thanks!

So there you go miss schlonky - I'm admitting to voting for the Liberals. Better the devil you know. This election campaign is nothing but a scare campaign from BOTH sides. Labor probably aren't THAT bad in managing the economy and the union threat isn't THAT great, but at the same time Work Choices/AWAs aren't that bad either. Miss Schlonky - have you ever considered the number of small businesses who are going out of business because of 'protections' of unfair dismissal? I work with a guy who used to own/run a small business, evidently he's now out of business because he spent more time fighting disgruntled ex-employees than actually running the business. Just think about that - there's always 2 sides to every situation.

Technology investment? If you're talking about their 'broadband packages' you have no idea. Neither party has any idea about it. Australia is so far behind its not funny, and the issue isn't which party is in power, its the big T - Telstra.

It is easier for me to tell you that I won't be voting for John Howard.....
I am wanting to Vote Greens... BUT i am afraid that if I don't vote for Labor outright ... that Lil' Johnny and his cronnies will slip back in .. and I do NOT want that to happen.
The arrogance of the Howard government and MANY of those supporting him is sickening ... It's a real case of I'M ALL RIGHT JACK BUGGAR YOU .. and THAT has NEVER been a part of the Australia i KNOW.

EDIT:
incidently ... i am *all right Jack* ... in a most secure job, home-owner( a shack not a mansion.. don't NEED a mansion).. no debt ...BUT there is no way I can vote on what JUST affects me.... there are people out there hurting because of the IR laws... and I am MOST fearful Howard will push us towards the way it is in America.. with families struggling to survive on a minimum wage .. while the wealthy maximize their profits....

Don't get me wrong .. PROFITS are vitally important .. no profits.. No company ... NO jobs. poor profits.. not worth the trouble and stress therefore NO company .... no Jobs...:
BUT profits that can only be seen as obscene While worker-Joe-Bloggs struggles to meet his rent ( forget mortage.. he can't afford to buy a home) and feed his family WHILE trying to HAVE a family life.... NAH THAT'S DISGUSTING....
Paying CEO's multi=millions of dollars... NAH that's disgusting ...

HOWARD should NOT be allowed to screw the people over any more

I've been voting for along time, I've voted labor, I've voted liberals. I've been thru hard times too.
I'm voting Liberals they have done a good job this far I look at how NSW's is being run into the ground by the labor party, I don't want labor to send me there again.
But at the end of the day you have to vote for who you think you will be better off with.
Go Johnny

You are very wise to ignore the polls. Please look carefully into the pro's and con's on both Party's because, at the end of the day, it may be only 1 vote but, it's an opportunity to be totally individual. Your vote is an expression of you and your opinion. Make it count!

For a safe and secure Country. For jobs and a prosperous future, I'm voting for the Coalition. Far too many questions have to be asked about Labor. I want certainty, I know what the Coalition stands for and I know their track record on jobs, economy and our International standing. For this and so much more. Coalition for me!
