If money didn't matter then anyone would sign A-Rod. He is arguably the best player in baseball. However, in my opinion he is bringing baseball down. Do you realize that he didn't even want to talk to the Yankees unless he was offered 350 million. I am sorry, but no one is worth that much. As good as he is, I think he is a selfish player who doesn't care about anything except the money.

Money doesnt matter to the red sox.. Money matters to the big A-rod, thats all he cares about is getting mola. He's not known to be a team player so why would the red sox want him? Besides we are doing just fine without him we won 2 world series in 4 yrs. I dont think the red sox need A-rod.

There are several reasons the Red Sox fans do not want A-Rod. For one, they love their current third baseman, World Series MVP Mike Lowell. For another, they have won two World Series without him and do not feel that they need him to keep on winning the way that they have before. Also, many Sox fans feel that A-Rod holds a "curse." No team he has been on, including the Seattle Mariners who set the record for the most wins in the regular season, has made it to the World Series, let alone won it. In baseball, particularly in Boston, they take their curses seriously. A-Rod was also on the dreaded Yankees and "loved" his time there. Therefore, in the eyes of Red Sox Nation, he is not someone they would want on their team. And if you look back to 2004, in the playoffs, A-Rod had the famous slap of Bronson Arroyo to try to avoid getting thrown out at first. This makes him someone that Boston fans have no respect for. He is basically persona non grata in Boston. Peroid.

If the Sox get Arod, you will see the biggest turnaround flip flop job in the history of sports. The bail out on the Patriots for moving to Foxboro, and jump on the Patriot Bandwagon when they started winning will be a model of consistency for the Sox fan compared to this. You'll hear all kinds of "we realy got back at Yankee fans" and what not from them. Kind of childish really. But make no mistake. That will be as predictable as tea in the harbor.

They dont want a rod because the red sox are such big rivals of them obviously the red sox dont need more bats they won the world series and with a rod they have to put a gold glovver on the bench!!!!!!!

Because A-Rod is a "me" guy who has never got even remotely close to the World Series - something the Sox have won twice in the past four years after 86 years of futility. He's in it only for the money, and his agent can go **** himself.

He is not know as a team player and one of the big reasons the RED SOX are as good as they are is because they work well as a team. The SOX have a perfect mix of experienced veterans and talented rookies. Deep pockets will not guarantee you a good team...just look at the Yankees their payroll has risen steadily every year and yet they still can't win a world series this millennium but the SOX have 2.

arods gonna be one of the best players ever and even as a die hard sox fan i am aware of that. however, arod isnt the player we want in our atmosphere. the sox are a team. bringing a one man show like a rod will disrupt us. we already have solid power bats in ortiz and ramirez and with dealings with lowell getting closer to making him a sock again, why would we want arod. he attracts too much attention and granted hes a great regular season performer, when it coems down to it he chokes, which is exactly what we arent

Money always matters. The Red Sox want to spend less money on payroll, not more. They just want to compete at the same time.

some of players on the sox dont like him. varitek, pedroia, manny. they are key parts of the sox line-up and theres no reason to upset them. not to mention they jus won a world series w/o him, theres no need to mess w/ the chemistry
