simple. because up until now Musharraf has been our lapdog, democracy or not. Chavez has not.

it has nothing to do with spreading democracy. it has everything to do with who serves Americas (imperialist) interests. but you already knew that, lol.

YES it is a further example of hypocrisy by the neo con religious right. BUT I think it has more to do with 2 peas in a pod. OBVOIUSLY the american people want a country like those in the middle east. THEY MUST, they just keep electing the same politicians that are alligning themselves with those type of leaders and who are putting into place a theocratic form of government in the USA. Therefore, the only conclusion that can be drawn from those 2 actions are that american people, want dictatorial leadership, that is fanatically religious and will take away any civil rights or freedoms they might have AND will bring down the economy of the country and make everyone poor by eleminating the middle class. THEY MUST again they just keep electing the same politicians that are making the laws that are letting this happen.

WOW, so we like the guy who is trying to fight terrorists and hate the guy who is trying to become the next Castro. And you don't understand.

By the way I am a bit conservative, but far from religious. You really need to get away from the generalizations, they show your intelligence too well.

No, Pakistan is a NATO ally and Chavez is just an animal like the president of Iran. And the president of Pakistan is holding elections.
