Remember that the square root is the same as the exponent of 1/2. Therefore you have log7 7^1/2. Bring that exponent around to the front and log base 7 of 7 = 1. So you have 1/2 x 1 = 1/2.

I think it's because square root is like squaring 7 to the 1/2 power and the log of 7 cancels the base of 7 and just leaves the power 1/2.

Something is missing.

log(7) * sqrt (7) =2.235919247

log (7) =0.84509804
sqrt (7) =2.645751311
log (7*sqrt(7)) = 1.26764706
ln(7)=1.945910149 (natural log)

I see no combination of addition, subtraction, division, multiplication , or exponents that will yield an answer of 1/2. Some bit of information is missing.
