For me success means being able to work at the thing I love best doing, freelancing. It doesn't have to pay me alot of money and believe me it doesn't. Success being able to have all the basic necessities , an occasional frivolity or good time . It's having integrity and empathy and being able to walk your walk and talk your own talk without hanging your head or pretending to be something you're not.

Success is not measured by beautiful homes, expensive cars, and expensive wardrobes and another home on the beach.Or by being a Hollywood Celebrity going into Africa, to make you look good, because you have millions of dollars, and can afford it. Or by how many 'good' books you can write, and sell them, because you know what the public WANTS to read. Whats "In":- NO!

Success is measured by the things you have given, not what you have.
Success is measured by looking at your children, and seeing, that what you taught them, has remained with them, and they are passing that onto their children.

Success is measured, by:- If you can love the hurting, the old, the people who have less than you, and do something about it. Not for publicity, but for the love of humanity.

Success is swimming upstream, for honesty, integrity and fairness. Even if no one ever knows your name.

Success is that warm feeling you have when you have been able to complete something to your satisfaction. It can be an assignment, a responsibility you have discharged - the list can be endless. Often success is measured by the appreciation you get from others. I wouldn't take that as a true yardstick though, for perceptions differ and what I would consider a success may be considered a failure by another and vice versa.
