I've been with the same company for 9 years. My husband is being transferred, so I must go with him to another state. I'm just wondering, is there anything I should do for my last day? This was my first job right out of high school and it's going to be really strange to leave. My co-workers are having a party for me, but is there anything I should do?

When I have left I usually buy cakes or sweets for everyone and also send people I like hand written messages of thanks. I also take pictures and a memento from my work place (Such as name badge, Office tidy or something.) If you like to ask to make a fairwell speech as those can be much appreciated. Don't forget to take peoples contact details too if you want to stay in touch!
I think the best thing you can do is leave people with a mix of tears and laughter and if they would have you back, well so much the better. Good luck with the move and have fun!

Sounds like a tough one. Maybe, about two weeks or so after you are gone, order pizza for everybody and fax them a letter of how you really liked working with them.
Something not too personal, but something that will always be remembered.

Cry, drink all the booze, eat all the food, hug all the people you worked with and like, then leave and get on with your life. You will be fine. Moving will be a positive experience. Don't be afraid of it.
