Never got nervous before a game, not even the state championship, but did get nervous after the game was over. Could never figure that out.
But, what I really want to know is this; you are playing JV and you never changed on the fly? We were changing on the fly in squirts. Thats 8-10 yrs old!

Not really ever. I just know what I have to do during the game and think about that. I am currently in highschool and have played for over 7 years and can't really remember my first game. Only thing I can say is that it is only a JV game so you probably shouldn't get that worried over it. Only time I get nervous is before a championship or if you are goin up against an excellent team. Good luck though.

Last year, it was our home opener for my school's varsity team, and guess who dropped the puck.
GORDIE HOWE
If that doesn't get you nervous before a game, you got nerves of steel.
By the way, because our whole team had the pre-game butterflies, we went out and blew the game 4-1.
Some people think it's a good thing to have butterflies in your stomach before a game, but I personally hate it.

My first exhibition game...............I wanted to join Glenn Hall at the porcelain god...............but Pilous said that was Glenn's 'alone time'. Being on the ice against my heroes just made it worse. Sometimes I look back and think if I wasn't in so much awe, people would eventually have been in awe of me. I talked to Matt Stajan last year and he felt the same way his first day of training camp.
I remember my first game of Junior, I wanted so bad to be sick, that way I wouldn;t have to play, and if I didn't play, I couldn't be blamed for losing. As it was I played about 5 minutes, and most of the play was in their end, I got off a weak shot too. We won 4-2.

yeah, i play jv hockey and im the only girl!
i always get sh*t so im always nervous before a game. You just got to remember that even if you mess up you team will still be there. Even now after my 5th game I still get nevous because i always have to prove myself to them. that shouldnt be a problem for you. Remember just relax. My 1st game i got hit in the neck and got hurt but if you team is like mine and if you get hurt your team will get pissed and skate hit and play 10 times harder. So remember just dont get nervous and if you do just relax....

of course, playing in your first game when you move up to a new level is nerve-racking. And you get to represent your high school when you play, the nervousness will pass in time, until you make varsity.
