I own a 2003 Infiniti QX4 and I was about to purchase some 22" rims for it. However, winter is coming up and I was wondering if they would handle alright in the snow? Especially here in Denver.

22 inch snow tires on an SUV? With the little flex you get from those short sidewalls even in warm weather, you will be very disappointed with the winter ride you will get from those ribbon sidewalls at sub-zero temperatures. If you must, get those cheesy rims for summer, and put winter tires on your standard rims, your handling in the snow will be much better.

You are best off if you get rims of a size that the car was engineered for, and snow/ice radial tires for the winter. I lived in a similar climate in B.C. for many years, and I would strongly suggest getting a separate set of rims (the proper size) with the snow/ice radial tires for the winter season, and then a set of the 22" rims with all-season tires for the other three seasons. You can quickly switch the wheels yourself when the snow starts blowing, then switch them back when spring arrives. That's the way I did it.

I would run some wrinkle wall slicks. They should work great.
