White permanent marker? where can I get one?

No, once it's on leather it's there for good. You might be able to use a white marker to cover it up, or ask dufus to buy you a new ball.

I've managed to get ink off of many things (even permanent marker) by spraying it with hairspray. It might take several tries, but it generally works.

Rubbing alcohol. It should work as long as the surface is still glossy.
