If you want 23% of $400 dollars, for example, just multiply 400 times 0.23, to get $92.

If you want 8% of 37, that is 0.08 times 37, or 2.96.

Do you have a calculator?
Divide two numbers & note result.
Now divide same numbers & hit % key.
It shifts the decimal 2 places right.
That's the same as multiplying by 100.

Everything is based on 100 or 100%.
MLB uses 1000.
Think in pennies.

Divide 100%, into any amount of pennies. Check the decimal places.

multiply the number by the percent and divide by 100

(a*b)/100
a=number
b=percent
