By Lionel Ritchie.

'Know it sounds funny but I just can't stand the pain,
Girl, I'm leavin' you tomorrow,
Seems to me girl you'know I've done all I can,
You see I've beg, stole and I've borrowed.

Chorus:

S'why I'm easy ..... easy like Sunday mornin',
It's why I'm easy ..... easy like Sunday mornin'.

Why in the world would anybody put chains on me, yeah,
I've paid my dues to make it,
Everybody wants me to be what they want me to be,
I'm not happy when I try to fake it, oooh.

Chorus: .....

Bridge:
I wanna be high ..... so high,
I wanna be free to know the things I do are right,
I wanna be free ..... just me , oh baby.

What does this song mean? Is it bad or good?

Well...what he is trying to say is that he has tried to make a relationship work with some woman and he's not going to try very hard because he is a free spirited kind of person
in other words....I'm easy means....when the going gets tough...I run away.

i love lionel ritchie. the song to me is good about a man who's heart got broken and now it is time to go and live free and easy with no more heartache and be high on life.

It's Lionel Ritchie! Just enjoy the vibes and don't try to ponder on Lionel Richie lyrics. You may find yourself dancing on the ceiling if you do!

It sounds like the song is about problems Lionel Richie was having in his marriage to his first wife as well as his decision to leave The Commodores. Basically, they kicked him out of the group because of a disagreement in the direction they wanted to go in. He wanted to be a smooth balladeer while the rest of them wanted to be a funk group.

No song is bad; every song [artist] has its [their] own opinion, in this case, I personally think this song is trying to tell its audience that he's fed up with having no freedom from his wife/girfriend/significant other and that he want to be free. The reference to Sunday morning being easy is because on Sunday's (for Christians), one is supposed to relax and do no work.

free and easy.....he is leaving her because she makes life not 'easy'/free for him. She chains him down, so he is leaving. "Like Sunday Morning" is just a reference to an old idea of lazy sunday mornings where your time was yours and you had no one/nothing to do......it was easy, free....'like sunday morning.
