I wouldn't say get hammered or anything, but studies have shown that wine can be good for you. When I was pregnant I had one glass a month on special occasions after the first trimester. My daughter is perfect. Some midwives will even recommend a glass of wine or beer to relax you during labor and stimulate contractions or to help build your milk supply after baby is born. Women were doing a lot worse before we had all this research saying this is bad one week and good the next, so I wouldn't worry too much about a glass now and then. Good Luck and congrats.

Red wine. But limit your consumption. Don't get drunk because your fetus gets drunk. Think about it. What goes in your body goes to the fetus. Love yourself and love your child first. If a fetus gets drunk as early as you are pregnant it can and will cause deformities. The first tri-mester is the most critical for a fetus. I really wouldn't recomend it. The 2nd mester check with your doctor to make sure that the pregnancy is going fine. the last trimemster you can really kick it up a notch. But again listen to your doctor. It's really your doctor that can tell you the safest way to drink, because he knows your blood pressure and other things that coincide with being pregnant. Not knowing your background it's a hard question to answer on Yahoo. We're not doctors and what might be okay for some women might not work with others. Check with your doctor. Pregnancy isn't something to play with if you want a healthy baby.

HOWEVER, I also seen a Law and Order debating this issue. Fetal Alcohol Syndrom can occur with 4 drinks in a night a night of heavy drinking can hurt the baby. Some results are disfigured faces and slower learning. However, it also varies from mother to mother. Some experience 0 results some have this illness.
Might want to google Fetal Alcohol Syndrom just so you can have all the info.
*Not sure about how early you can drink...ask doctor*

While some people may argue its OK to have a glass of wine or beer once in a while while pregnant, all formal literature recommends to stay totally away from alcohol and smoking, because the blood transmits these substances to the baby. Good luck.

Don't do it. It isn't worth the risk. If something goes wrong, God forbid, you'll always wonder if it was that glass of wine.
