Will tobacco in my lint trap cause a fire?

No. It's just as flammable as lint.

Anything in your lint trap could start a fire. always clean it out and do the exhaust pipe too at least once a year.

Only if the tobacco is lit...the lint will flame up faster than the tobacco.
