There used to be this girl in my school (Amanda). She was only a student in my grade (8th) for 1 year. Then for certain reasons, she had to switch schools.

I was friends with her, but not really close friends. She was friends with one of my friends, so I talked with her sometimes. I got her aim on my buddy list. She's hardly on.

But the thing is, I think there is someone hacking into her account.

"she" told me that she was sick of all of us (at our school) and that she was gonna stop being friends with us and start over new. I was the only 1 on at the time. She told me to pass the msg on.

I did, but one of her friends said it wasn't Amanda. That she talked with her. This has happened to her before though...

A few mins ago, I saw her online. Determined to crack down the case, I IMed her. Ask, "want to talk?" She signed off.

How do I find out who this person is?? I hate how the imposter is ruining her life. I want to know who it is. How do I find out? Help? Ideas?

Ther is 2 things that u can do. One is to try get intouch with Amanda and try to know the truth if it is possible. Secondly Write something that is really harsh that will make either Amanda or the fake to come striking u at once.
Or just simply ignore and change ur ID.

do scans on her infected computer--check for viruses, root kits, and get a good anti -virus program to clean it up. Also, make sure you have a good firewall on this computer after you clean it up. She needs to know what is happening---UNLESS IT IS REALLY HER, and not a hacker.

(Cue the suspicious mystery movie music, "Duh duh DUH!"), First off, speak with Amanda about it. Ask her for any info about what happened. Then, tell her to change the password of her account or start over fresh. Catch the culprit in the act, and pose like you're really sorry and want to talk. Then spring on him/her ask about it and if they log off, report them to the account management.
Catch that err suspicious guy! Yay mysteries!
