Just saw the doctor today and I should be weighing about 173, and instead I weight about 161. In the last month, I've lost about 5-6 pounds. I didn't mean to, but I'm really not hungry and when I do eat I throw it back up an hour later. So, it's difficult to eat knowing you're going to be vomiting in an hour. She was very upset and said I needed to gain about 10 pounds. She said it could result in a miscarriage if this continues. I'm really scared. I don't want to lose my baby! How do I gain weight, without etating junk food? Any kind of meat makes me sick to my stomach, and the doctor suggested that. I eat a small breakfast (Half a plain bagel), a cup of soup for lunch, and for dinner I normally eat something bland like plain mashed potatoes or plain rice or plain pancakes. I want to gain the weight so I can give my baby the healthiest chance I can, so what do you guys suggest?

As long as you're not underweight (at 175- even 161, you'd have to be over 6 foot tall to be underweight) you can lose weight, especially in this first trimester time without it causing and issue.
I dont know why you doctor is being such a spazz case and causing you undue stress. Its not needed.
Take your prenatal, eat meaningful foods (healthy proteins, whole grains), and drink water and milk. Eat when you're hungry. Dont worry about it.
I lost a few pounds starting out, and I was already underweight. My mom was over weight and lost 60 pounds with my brother, he was bigger than all of us.
Chill out, and possibly consider a new doctor.

You need to be eating 5-6 small meals a day. Your stomach will feel better with food on it more often. At this point losing a little weight isn't too dangerous, you just need to make sure you are gaining by the time you hit 16wks or so. Eat whatever(anything) feels good on your stomach, don't worry too much about balanced diet and healthy food. My midwife suggested that during the first trimester I just concentrate on not losing weight not nutrition, that's what he vitamins are for. I lost 6lbs(8lbs total) in one week and managed to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight by 14wks. Your goal by the end of your first trimester is to get back close to your pre-pregnancy weight then gain about a pound a week after that.

they say which you will start to coach faster with each and each toddler you have. each and every woman is diverse. i don't think of it rather is that super of a deal which you have lost slightly weight, as long as you're eating a healthy nicely rounded weight loss plan. i'm 12 weeks pregnant too and that i've got not gained any weight. For me i think of the reason being that I even have been paying greater interest to what I consume, and thinking approximately the way it somewhat is going to result my toddler. do not difficulty to lots with reference to the load, you will earnings the farther alongside you get.

I wouldn't worry about a miscarriage. I didn't gain any weight during my first trimester, I'm 19 weeks now. But in this last month I gained 5. Your weight will track itself. Just keep your diet healthy and your baby will get all the nutrients he/she needs. I don't blame you for not wanting to eat, the thought of it coming back up doesn't appeal to me either!

weight really isn't as big of deal as people think. alot of people loose weight in the first trimester due to nausea and vomiting. the baby will get the nutrients from your body even if it takes them from your stores (calcium from bones) as long as your baby is healthy I'm sure everything will be fine. just drink alot and eat whatever you can keep down. I've gained 7 pounds and my baby is perfect. I'm 19w1d.

It is perfectly normal to lose weight in your fist trimester not that i am a doctor or anything but the same happened to me in my fist trimester and my doctor said it is normal. Specially if you have morning sickness you cant really expect to gain weight if ur throwing it all back up the best thing to do is not stress cuz that is also a big problem. Just try to eat saltys specially when you feel sick, try to eat carbs they settle in your stomach better than soup. but dont worry after your morning sickness has left, you will notice the change and will start gaining the weight you should.
