Yes, this is true, his driver's license lists his name as "Brother".
My daughter-in-law says that she has a cousin and his first name is "Brother", I thought maybe it was his Mother's maiden name & she says, no, that was not the case.
Any ideas?

"Brother", as I understand was born in Louisiana and as far as I know, still lives there.

Maybe his mom was hoping that the boy would be a religious person, like the actor Judge Reinhold. He said they named him "Judge" in hopes that one day he would be a judge, I guess he fooled them. By being an actor, he could be whatever the script called for or not.
I think that's really stupid for an adult to name a kid something like "Brother", "Judge", heck they might as well name him, "Plumber" or "Jailbird". This is really unfair to the individual, it's almost like trying to tell him what he's going to be, not letting him make his own mistakes or decisions in life.
I think, if my parents did that to me, I would change my name the first day that I became 21 or whatever was legal in that state.
By the way, where is "Brother" from, anyway?

I guess this saves
a lot of time if you
have a bunch of
preachers in your
family. If his name
is already Brother,
then he can start
his own religious
crusade like in
Elmer Gantry.
This is the only
reason except,
maybe the family has
a lot of stock in the
Brother Company.
I have a sewing machine
that's a Brother.
People name their
kids a lot of strange
things, my Dad's sister's
name is "Jolie" and
he said that was because
she was conceived
in an elevator,
just like him,
his given name
was "Otis". But no
one ever called him that.
Not unless they liked
having their head torn off.

I went to college with a girl that named her daughter "Toilette." That is a screwed up mother. She said it sounded French and unique.
