The inequality changes if you multiply or divide by a negative.
We don't have to change the inequality.

Instead of < pretend it is = and solve
3x-6=0
3x=6
x=2

switch back

x<2

other side
3x-5=4
3x=9
x=3

switch back
x>4

"interval form"
Notes: 1. The included endpoint x = 5 is indicated with
a "bracket". [ ]

2. Parentheses are used when an endpoint is not included. ( )

3. The -(sideways 8) represents "negative infinity."

infinity looks like a sideways 8
negative infinity is - sideways 8

( negative infinity,2) or (4, infinity)
