Hi

Use the Windows xp cd that came with your computer. This will allow you to reinstall your operating system. You will be asked during installation what drive to install it on as well, and just choose C. This website gives you additional instructions:

I hope this helps you =)

On my compaq, the OS is on the harddrive on a virtual D drive. When you first start the computer you get a splash screen that offers to take you to start up or reinstall the OS. Since the OS is on the hard drive it reinstalls/repairs itself. YOu have to be quick to get to the button to reinstall.

When you install XP fresh, you get the choice to format the C: drive only during install.
