I respectfully disagree with the statement, because feminism is an ideal that is appropriate to the people whom identify with it.
Throughout time, feminism has changed from what it once had been, and will probably continue changing, therefore, I think that I was born an individual first, then, an equal to both men and other women, not a feminist. This is my opinion.

I agree that we are all born equal - but then you realize there are people in society who don't agree with you! And then you become a feminist.
I have heard some people say they didn't choose 'such-and-such' (a job or something), IT chose them. I feel the same way about feminism. If I could choose to be something in life, a feminist wouldn't come to mind. I would choose to be ignorant of the issues - "Ignorance is bliss" is certainly true!!
However, in seeing and experiencing what I have - I have become a feminist and there is no turning back - until justice is achieved. But I think it is often hard - lots of opposition, lots of barriers (right wing, christians, pope, etc!), lots of slander and lots of attack on sexuality, stereotypes, etc.
I will not change, though. I have seen some horrific conditions and situations and so I firmly believe that feminism is just and fair.

I thought that saying went out with shoulderpads in the 80's.
I am not a feminist. I enjoy having men open doors for me and holding my chair when I sit. My husband worships the ground I walk on, and I deserve every bit of that worship. (OK, maybe I AM a feminist)

I don't believe that I was born to be a feminist, because during the early early times men are the superior being than women but now in the modern society men & women are equal in the eyes of the world. But there are some practices in other cultures that women should be always a follower & obedient to their husband.I don't think so that's right.Women can manage the world equally as good as men. for example there are women presidents or prime minister who is equally resposible & running their country with pride & dignity well respected by men presidents etc,

I would say that Tera is a liar! The thought of myself being born a feminist is both loathsome and disgusting. It turns my stomach.

It's technically inaccurate, since we aren't born with ideas about politics. But I honestly can't remember a time as a child when I didn't consider myself a feminist.

I would say that all women are "born feminists"- that is, they believe themselves to be equals to men...and that it isn't until society's gender expectations or negative life experiences (contact with those who see women as inferior) influence their perceptions of themselves that some start to believe they may actually be "inferior."

I would think a lesbian would make that statement as you are born a lesbian and being a lesbian you would have to be a feminist, only caring for rights of women and not caring about men.
But really that would be, 'i was born a feminazi'
