Those who believe in It and please It will be granted universal knowledge and paradise in the cosmos while those who do not accept It will be stuck forever on Earth wondering about the stars and the heavens and how the Universe came to be until they, in their lifetime or next, accept It and be freed.

My point? You may never know the secrets of the Universe until you learn that just because something lacks evidence doesn't mean it's improbable.

This is just a karmic theory to think about. Imagine that all you had to do was believe but instead you reached out and tried to grab it but it disappeared. The very one thing that you worked so hard to get someone else got with no effort at all, they just simply believed.

If this were true how devastating would it be to the Astronomers who don't believe in Intelligent Design?

Science knows that just because soemthing that lacks evidence doesn't mean it's impossible. All it says is that something doesn't exist until proven to do so. Science isn't about truth, it is about fact. You can't just say, "I believe this, therefore it is true". Your theory claims that you can just invent a theory on the universe, and by believing it, it is true.

Let me give you an example: no matter how hard I believe that it is possilbe to go faster than light, a scientist will not accept it until someone actually moves faster than light. According to you, by believing it is possible, that is all we need to go faster than light.

In regards to reaching out and grabbing something but it dissapearing: let me give you another example. The vikings believed that lightning was Thor's hammer as it moved across the sky. But the scientists "Reached out" and discovered that it is in fact realted to protons and static charge.

Scientists will believe anything, provided the evidence supports their belief. Currently, ID does nto have any evidence, so it is not a valid scientific theory.

The reason for rejecting intelligent design is simple, from a scientific point of view. There has never been any evidence of a divine creator. The concept is also highly unlikely, given what we have observed about the Universe.

And I won't be stuck here forever wondering about the stars. I would be happy if that were the case. I will die, deteriorate, and eventually be forgotten. So will you. Sorry. Wanting to believe something is a sure way to believe in the wrong things.

You seem to have gotten distracted. I don't see a theory, there. But that's okay. We all know what ID is. You only have to read two pages of a book to learn all about it. Creationism/Intelligent Design is nothing if not simple.

No doubt you will agree with wheeliebin, but argument from incredulity is not a strong position. Nor is argument from ignorance. Our amazement at the functionality of anatomical structures might seem to indicate a creator. But we have discovered that there is nothing which couldn't have evolved by natural selection. Read Blind Watchmaker, by Dawkins if you really want to understand how all this amazing stuff came to be.

Things that lack evidence are not percieved as facts. Truth is in facts. Beliefs are just beliefs and have no structure based in fact. What if when you die you find out the "Hokey Pokey" really was what it's all about? No evidence to support it. If something is true, it doesn't matter if you believe it or not. It will be true without your thinking or feelings or any doctrines. I don't think God would make a distinction between those who believe and don't. Why would it matter to Him since He knows the facts and your belief or not cannot change them?

I.D. is not a theory it is a fact! It is right in front of you, if you care to look out of the nearest window! However! Having said that there is the question of just who that intelligence is! Or what that intelligence is. The one irrefutable fact is, it is an intelligent design! There is no way that matter can be put together to perform specific difficult exacting tasks such as vision, brain function, and circulatory body functions in a random functional way! And that is only in the mammal group of invertebrates! Because there is a world that is full of designs other than mammals which happen to be designed just as efficiently! So! Who or what is the intelligence that is achieving these marvels on a daily basis? Have a great day.

stuff i don't believe in: Intelligent Design or any other attempt of a religion to explain anything in the real world, souffle`s, aliens from other planets on Earth.

stuff i am on the fence about: Leprechauns, good/evil, whether Indiana Jones 4 will be any good.

wow. we actually agree... and you know who you are

Dreamer too should know how I feel.
And as far as things go for now......
its almost the same as believing in ID

but there's a little bit of math backing me up (it wasn't MY idea)
God (biblical) has no math to back him up.

now as far as I know, maybe something/someone did create our Multiverse.... I mean we've got scientists trying to create a new universe too.
http://www.newscientist.com/channel/fundamentals/mg19125591.500-create-your-own-universe.html

so why not.............. but I'm steering clear of the freakin bible.

ok the one thing I do know for sure......... is that when the moment comes, I will and I do admit Even if we had the answers, more questions will arise and I wish to know the truth and will accept it (if I have a choice)

So all I need to do to live forever is to deny that there is such a thing as intelligent design? Sweet...

Believing in something does not make it real. And believing in something without evidence of it's existence is delusion.

If you are opposed to scientific study and reject scientific theory, why is it that you are spending so much time in the Astronomy section with your questions?

Well, at least you can spell. I am not too sure what you are trying to say though.
