Apparently, they read it , and never had the good sense to question what they read. Just as they read the Bible and do not have the good sense to question what they read in it!

Who says the Bible says they have no souls? You're taking it out of context. But before I comment further on your question we need to clarify the definition of the word "soul". It is both the body and the spirit united. Not just the spirit.

Remember that the modern Bible does not contain all holy scripture that was written by God's prophets. The book of Abraham (book included in some Middle Eastern culture as well as LDS scripture) clearly describes a more detailed account of the creation and in it we learn that everything has intelligence of different degrees (or spirits) - animals and plants, too. How else would something like grass live? So next time your eat that salad, remember to thank God for the life that was sacrificed to feed you. :)

What makes you so sure that animals have souls? Or that humans have souls, for that matter? You believe animals and humans have souls, just as some people believe only humans have souls. It's quite silly to say someone doesn't have any sense because they believe something with no proof, when you do the same.

I'm not sure that animals don't have souls. They definately have different personalities. And when Jesus cast the demons into the swineherd the pigs jumped off a cliff and killed themselves...so that would denote that they had some sort of spiritual part to them. All life has some sort of spirt, because all life came from life.

I have wondered the same thing. I hope someone will explain it!

I could never be a part of a religion that said animals have no souls.

They probably got that from the part of the Bible about humans being made in God's image but I have no doubt that animals have souls.

Uhmm..the Bible actually says that animals have no souls.

Add...Well, it does contradict that statement later on when it states that in heaven the 'Lion shall lie with the lamb"

I always wondered how that could happen, when it clearly stated earlier that they had no souls. Go figure...
