a similar buildup as Iraq is starting to happen in the media. As the aggressive voice and drumbeat of saber wrattling continues in the media, then soon enough there will be no face saving options available. If so, then an attack may be imminent?

Depends on who gets elected. If we vote someone in who thinks we can negotiate and make nice, it will be imminent. On the other hand, if we vote in a hot head, it will be imminent. I think we are screwed no matter how you twist it. When it happens, I'm taking a deep breath. I am a lousy camper.

I think it depends on a few factors but from the outset, I disagree with your premise comparing this to Iraq. People need to realize that when you have a stated goal of wiping a country off the map, it may be time to move before they get the ability to do it (preemption doctrine)...either themselves or through their proxies (Hezbollah and ha mas). Either way, I think it will look totally different than Iraq, it will be a week to two week air campaign targeting the nuclear facilities, the IRGC and the QUDs force. By weakening these oppressive tools of the republic, the citizens will have a choice of the status quo or to take back their country.

It needs to happen unless Iran decides to become a puppet for us, the world is turning into a nice game of Risk, letting a weaker nation fall to the hand of a competitor is unacceptable so we are trying to pick off as many people that don't want to appease us before our competition (China, EU, etc) do.

No. If the liberals get in office, we will run away. Then Iran will nuke Israel. Then there will be a conflict. I think we should let the worthless United Nations handle this.
