They both caw to me.
(I have the delusion that I'm a writer. It's so sad.)

Edgar Allan Poe wrote one while sitting at the other.

A lot has been written on both.

Originally they both had feathers

A lot of cr@p can be produced by both.

Pupils have writing desks. Ravens have pupils.

Both can be uncomfortable to sit on. (really. If you catch a raven and sit on it, you'll see what I mean. go ahead, I'll wait)

According to N.A. Indian legend, the raven helped create the world. The writing desk helps create the word.

There are many myths about ravens. The writing desk is becoming mythical.

Both may become extinct by the end of the century (along with all other life) if we humans don't get our act together.

And finally, my favorite,

If you stick wings on a writing desk, it still looks nothing like a raven.

Lewis Carroll replaced into standard to have a delicate stammer so while he replaced into telling the Wonderland tale he would have emphasized the beginnings of the words R-r-r-raven and the wR-r-r-riting table. So an answer could be that a raven is somewhat like a writing table once you start to assert the word. Writing desks have double use (Ws) you could write at them or examine from them and although you could write all the letters, they'd in no way all be examine! till now the seventeenth century the 'w' replaced into certainly mentioned. different letters ('g' in gnaw and 'ok' in knee, as an occasion) fell silent too, yet have been trapped interior the spelling as written English fossilised into its present form. they are all of historic Germanic commencing place and have been mentioned in Anglo-Saxon.

Well, obviously there are hundreds of meanings with no correct answer except for those which people choose to like. As carroll did not actually have an answer when he asked the question, it is open for interpretation and even the stupidest answers can be said. e.g because neither is made from aluminium.

However, there is an answer which i like the most and that is..
"because they both have inky quills"
