I Think it is time to stop buying the toys that American Toy Companies manufacture in China...After all they do have the power to straighten out the problem. Boycott.........Do you agree..........

Perhaps my question is stated incorrectly. I am pointing towards the ethical responsibility of the AmericanToy Manufacturers who own the Chinese manufacturing plants or any other foreign plant and do not enforce ethical safety standards. I was employed by US mfg. co. and they too imported components because of cost effectiveness, but they didnn't accept non-standard.

As for free-trade agreements that is a given in our so-called global economy. Right at the time being I am talking about The Toy corporation trying to end the year with a big bang showing for their stock holders at the expense of children. I won't touch the suspicious food for pets and people points here.

it 's all about the dollars and cents,American workers have too have a substantial living wage that most manufactures either don't want too afford or cant!!!
we have small business's that thrive on import sales who cant afford too have paid American workers and we have huge companies that just simply wont.
A lot of home based business are done soley on import sales.
So can you blame a guy who wants too make his own business.
i think the fault lies mainly with the large corporations who have been outsourcing material and part manufacturing too other places all over the world, not just china.
Even Japan has gotten in on the act, a number of Japanese motor parts are produced in china for assembly in japan!!!.
almost everything you have around you is in part or in whole produced by another country.
but in essence this is a real catch 22 scenario, you have American workers that have to make a certain amount of dollars and the manufacturer's are upping the price too meet the demands of their workers...... greed and avarice are the theme in the new millennium!!!.

Absolutely, if people just keep going out and buying this crap what incentive do they have to change?, if people are expecting them to just do the right thing don't hold your breath, if they were in the least bit concerned about doing the right thing they would have kept the manufacturing (and jobs ) here in the first place.
How often do we hear about these companies closing "profitable" plants here to ship them some where else. It's time to take a stand, even if it means going without some things for awhile.

Wrong. You should sell it immediately and save all that tax money on capital gains. With luck you can sell to a Korean national who will gladly close the factory here and relocate to China. Then you can relax and not get ulcers worrying about protectionist tariffs. As long as there are labor unions, the government will fight to kill them.

The larger companies here in the USA and Canada buy off shore so we all can have better pricing on great products.
China does some great work..... the ones that have been ripping off compaines like Matel and Toys R US ..... they should be the compaines to boycott...... they are the ones breaking the contracts and conditions.

i agree. not just toys, but all products. only problem, is that then you can't buy ANYTHING. it's all made there. american companies are paying chinese companies to do the work for them and the chinese companies don't care about safety or regulations and they use child and slave labor to make the goods. the rich get richer, the chinese poor become slaves, and the american public get to buy a dozen socks for $5.99

This is just another thing that has finally come back to bite the republican party in thier tushes for their pandering to corporate america. I think the whole country has a pretty good reading of this president, the former republican led congress, and anyone who thinks they can hide the fact that they dont have our interests at heart. Duh
