Type in the President's name and poverty and you should get what you're looking for. I did Bill Clinton and Lyndon Johnson up above to help you get started. Have fun! I'm impressed you're doing homework on a Friday night. You're parents must be very proud of you.

Just as a start, I googled "Social policy of lyndon johnson" and got this off the results:
http://books.google.com/books?id=GWkNDWPe3FMC&dq=social+policies+of+lyndon+johnson&pg=PA33&ots=9zlsjgYxcM&sig=L2KQNeBOxXLvokwwbT4oYt-THNM&prev=http://www.google.com/search%3Fhl%3Den%26q%3Dsocial%2Bpolicies%2Bof%2Blyndon%2Bjohnson&sa=X&oi=print&ct=result&cd=1&cad=legacy#PPA33,M1

I think if you do similar searches in Wikipedia and Google (okay...and Yahoo!) you may come up with something useful. As far as what to expect, your particular list contrasts democratic and republican viewpoints starkly, especially where government intervention on povery is concerned (guess who wanted more gov't intervention and who didn't?).

Also realize Johnson signed the first modern civil rights legislation in 1964 during a tumultuous time in our country's history, and that had a profound impact on poverty (but didn't eliminate it of course). Ronald Reagan was very focused on rabid American strength and the virtuousity of individualistic Americanism (which he felt was important to end the cold war favorably for America) so he was willing to turn more of a deaf ear to poverty. Also realize Clinton had the benefit of the computer revolution spawing new growth economies around the world, so he was able to be very liberal with spending programs.
...my point being there is a context of things going on in the country and world at the times of these presidencies that shaped the decisions and policies of these presidents.

Hope all this helps
