1] first, file and buff them - use the roughest side of buffer only once a month, so you don't damage nails.
2] coat with bitter substance or nail polish - taste - ick!
3] wear a bright bracelet, ring, or even a rubber band - to remind you to keep hands away from face.
4] wear gloves at home - for TV, homework, computer, - it works!
5] after one month, get a professional manicure - make a new reward for three, six months.
6] bring a nail file, and clippers EVERYWHERE you go - to take care of nail problems immediately, without teeth!
Good luck!

Okay, I have just the answer for you. Most of my friends have this problem and it's easily solved. If the horrible tasting nail polish hasn't worked then you must have a strong stomach(lol) but here's some other tips to help you:

1. Try putting on arcrylic nails that are dazzling and you would be crushed if they got BITTEN or messed up
2. Have a friend, sibling, or parent monitor you for a while(about 3 days) and smack you every time you go to bite them
3. Try putting oven mits or gloves on your hands on the weekends, while you preform all your usuall tasks and then when your done pull them off while dancing to your favorite song

If these tips do not help you please write back about it and I will do my best to fix it. Your welcome! ~Brooke

You just have to be absolutely determined not to bite them. There is really no magic cure. Try to be more aware of it - most people who bite their nails don't even pay attention to it when they are doing it. An interesting idea I heard from a friend is to set up a reward for yourself. If you can go one week or two weeks without biting them, get a manicure as a treat. After you get the manicure, you will be even less inclined to bite your pretty nails.

Good luck!

I definitely have the comparable situation, i'm 14 too, although interestingly such as you have it plenty worse! you are able to attempt pretend nails(that have worked for me different than while i grew to become into youthful i definitely bit them off, even though it in basic terms handed off as quickly as.) or there's a nail polish that purposely tastes disgusting so as which you will no longer p.c. to chew your nails. stable success! xx

well i used to have this problem too
but then what i started doing was rewarding myself for going say a week without biting them.
for example every week that passed id treat myself to a new shirt and jeans
its good motivation if youre into fashion especially

You should clip your nails really short then you won't be able to bite them.
