I am not sure where the other poster gets 6' as being average for men when it is something like 5'9/5'10. Anyways, 5'6 is short but there are a lot of guys that height. It would be nice to be 6' or so but if we were all that height then we'd all feel short. I think most men are in the 5'8-6' range and women are 5'1 - 5'5 ish typically. Of course each has taller and shorter

No --- you are average .Be happy as you could have been 5'2" or 5'0"
You are only too short if your legs can`t reach the ground when standing.
