Okay folks, this is the situation. So after dinner, you want to wash the dishes. You fill up a sink of water and squirt some detergent in. After you scrub off the remains on the dishes and what not, do you need to rinse it with clean water or you can just put it on the drying rack? The detergent bottle doesn't provide an instruction on using it.

Rinse with warm/hot water. There is likely residue on the dishes, which you don't see.

Yes you should rinse them, for the same reason that laundry has to be rinsed after washing. Detergent residue will remain on the dishes if you don't rinse the dishes.

Do you want fried chicken a la dawn detergent, or do you want fried chicken?

Scrape the dishes to remove large amounts of food, sauces, etc. Wash the dishes in a detergent and at least warm water. Rinse the detergent off the dishes. Sterilize the dishes in hot water. If you rinse the dishes in hot water, you can combine the last two steps.

The detergent cleans the food off the dishes but then you need to clean the detergent off by rinsing, taste the detergent,don't you think rinsing it off is a good idea?
