I am not interested in HOW to become a lawyer. My question is whether it is hard TO BE a lawyer nowadays.

i heard the job market to be a lawyer is slim nowadays. But it pays to have a law degree and use it toward another profession.

They try and make it hard. You have to get good grades in college and then do well on the LSAT. After that you try and get into a good school. And it is true that about 1/3rd flunk out. Then there is the Bar exam. Now if you are in some states the bar pass rate is 90%, so it is not that hard. Then there are others like California where half fail. That just sucks. I took the Cal bar. I walked into the test center, a hotel ballroom with 500 wantabe lawyers sat. I looked around and decided I was smarter then half of them and passed the first time. Start to finish is about 8 years with tests and bar exam. It is a lot of work, but jobs are a little tight if you want to be a prosecutor or a public defender. Money is good, but not great. I am very happy with my vocational choice.

i guess, sincemy cousin was really stressed about the bar exams and he was an all A student in school too
