Nothing. They constantly complain, but offer no solutions and constantly vote down any proposal for drilling our own oil. They have no answers, only complaints.

Some high powered Politicians do effect the price gasoline indirectly. We as individual consumers also play an important role in gasoline prices. Oil price and gasoline price typically track together, as one goes up the other goes up. The price of oil is typically set by two factors: global supply and demand; and risk. First Bush's part in this whole high gasoline price situation. Bush provides the risk. Within the first year of Bush's presidency, the price of oil was $25 per barrel. When 9/11 hit, the price spiked up by $5 per barrel but came back shortly thereafter. However when Bush started "saber-rattling" at Iraq the price of oil jumped to $35 per barrel and kept increasing until America invaded Iraq. Since the Iraq War, the price of oil has been increasing each year as news that war was not going good. The price of oil reach $60 per barrel. Not with more Bush "saber-rattling" at Iran the price of oil has reached nearly $100 per barrel.

Secondly, we as consumers of oil-based products from gasoline to plastic in Plasma-TVs and computers help keep the price of oil high. Therefore we provide the demand.

I have a good idea what they will do, in my home State of Washington the first thing the Democrats did was add a 9 cent a gallon tax on gas. its a safe bet that an increase in the Federal gas tax is coming. What they will not do is approve drilling in Alaska or anywhere else in the Country. Or try and encourage the constrution of new refineries and Atomic reactors.

Let's face it.

Our country is in kinda tough shape, but does anyone outside of Massachusetts really believe Nancy Pelosi when she says it's all Bush's fault?

And as for Massachusetts, well, we keep sending Kerry and Kennedy back to the Senate. Can't really go by us.

No one can do anything about high gas prices. All you can do is reduce demand in hopes the the oversupply will drive prices down (the way the world did to OPEC in the 70s).

The solution lies with people, not with politicians.

Don't you remember?
Last May the democratic congress was talking about sending a $200 check to every US citizen to offset gas prices. Until everyone pointed and laughed at their idiotic idea.

They tried to, by putting forth a bill to investigate and fine OPEC and big oil for gouging. The republicans shot it down.

Democrats are for high gas prices, eternal war in the Middle East, and for unConstitutional laws like the Patriot Act. There is no difference between the Democrat and Republican party. They are both working against the American People.

They can't do anything cause they barely have half of the seats, and if they vote, the president can veto, and the republican can vote aginst it.
