Im not a smoker, so I dont need a lighter in my car. I think I heard once that you can take out the lighter and put a charger in the hole instead..but im not sure if thats true, and I really dont want to find out the hard way. So anyone know?

yes you can. Just remember to unplug when not in use.

It`s not called a cigarette lighter anymore, its new pronunciation
is an accessory socket.I kid you not.The standard incar cigarette
lighters will not fit into the hole that was made for them anymore
because smoking is seen as a crime and will be outlawed eventually.I tried to put my oldish cigarette lighter in there and guess what ???.

I assume you're talking about a cell phone charger? Or something like that? If so, then yes, I've done it for years without any problems. Things like radar detectors, GPS units, and a few other things to boot.

thats the only other thing they are used for besides a lighter is a charger.
