Pratice self control and make a budget
You will have to do that sooner or later when you have a family
Why not just start now
If you think you are still young, believe me, life is short

Do you have parents you can trust with your money?

If so, every time you get some new money, give them a portion right away to deposit in a savings account for you the next time they are at the bank.

Then go ahead and blow the rest.

Beg, borrow or steal a copy of Dave Ramsey's book, Financial Peace. Read it and pay close attention to the charts that describe the power of compound interest over long periods of time. If that doesn't motivate you to want to save then pick up another book called 85 recipes for Alpo cuisine. Bless up to the fullest!

You need to make the decision to save before you're tempted. Anytime you get money, put a portion of it away where you won't touch it (just pretend you never had it). You can decide the percentage yourself (I think 25% sounds good), but whatever you decide, stick with it. If you develop the habit of saving at a young age, it will benefit you for the rest of your life. Good luck!

Open a bank account and set aside a certain amount of money to deposit, lets say every month, and give the bank book to your mom for safekeeping.
