You need to download drivers for all your hardware. Visit the manufaturers site and get the latest drivers available for Windows Vista.

Vista Ultimate 64 bit?, why on earth would you want to run that?, at the moment there is simply no support for this os!
Try the 32 bit version, it should be on the same disk, ultimate install should offer 32/64 bit os install options. As I have said many times before Vista is a young os and will only work properly when software/hardware companies decide to support it, the 32 bit is a better option tho some problems will remain. All of your hardware will be supported in XP, now that the os is mature and a lot of the flaws it had have been ironed out and the support IS there for it.
Go back to XP for now, wait for SP1 for vista and return to Vista once the hw/sw companies get to grips with it.................
going straight from ME to Vista64 bit, will have all kinds of problems, ME was written Via the DOS platform and only supported the FAT(file allocation table) filing sysyems, XP was written based on the WIN NT/2000 or 2K system and prefers NTFS(new technology filing system), WinXP will run on FAT32 tho, All this may baffle you tbh! But to me taking such a leap in Operating system means your likely to get lost.
Get win xp and get to grips with that, and go to vista after a month or 2..............

The world was not ready for Vista so i have found that to be true. Most of my hardware has been a major pain to get working with Vista and i still have alot of issues that are unresolved. I had to go to a computer shop to get my printer going even though it worked fine with windows XP.
I bought a new computer from Ebay without an os and i installed windows xp on it.
Good luck

Just goes to prove how much Vista sucks atm. Stick with XP for a while. Atleast until Vista comes out with SP1 or 2.
