What is the purpose?

I'm not putting them down, but I just saw one and if your going to play the part, then do it right.
Shave your armpits!
I have many gay friends, and they are the best!

Drag Queen's were my heroes growing up because they were the only one's out and visible, and they didn't take any s*** from people about being gay.
I remember my friend Goldie Montana and another drag were attacked (not in drag) in the Eastridge Mall in San Jose by a group of thugs, and they chased the bashers outside and put them in the dumpster and beat on the dumpster saying that they could not treat gay people like that any more.
They were arrested but the judge let them go!
My favorite drag queens are the ones who do it because they are entertainers. I think the best one ever was Charles Pierce because he was a live comedian, and he did star impersonations and topical humor with live music and singing. A lot of the GLBT organizations that continue to work for GLBT equal rights were and are funded by the charities run by drag queens.

I'm a straight woman who used to be a "f*g" hag----a woman who hangs out with gay guys. I had gone through a really painful break-up & these guys were good company. You can go out & party with them, dance, drink, & not have to worry too much about them wanting to go home with you. Some of them were drag queens, & I love their shows if they're done well. My daughter works in the restaurant/bar industry, so we know some of them personally. I find them entertaining & don't see anything wrong with it.

I was a "Tom-boy" growing up-----preferred wearing jeans & t-shirts to dresses, liked watching football or going camping instead of going to the mall.....women don't get the same grief for their choices.

Footnote: How many comedians, starting with TV in the 50's did they dress in drag for a laugh?

Well, alot of the drag queens do it in order to raise money for chairities that benefit HIV research, Cancer care and research and other various charities all affecting the LGBTQ community. The other portions do it to try and become famous and to be some sort of entertainment to both the hetero and gay communities. Basically becoming a gay star.

I love drag queens, even though they invariably have better legs than me.

They do it to feel beautiful, become a cariacature of themselves and entertain. It's a flamboyant side to life that should be embraced and enjoyed.

According to the bible (Deuteronomy 22:5), it says "A woman must not dress like a man. Neither shall a man wear women's clothing. Whoever does this is an abomination to God. " That is not my opinion, for it is accorded from the bible.

In my thoughts, I think that they have the freedom to do what they want. So, there is no stopping you guys for doing what your heart desires. So go headed and wear a bra if you want.

They do it because they want to and it makes them feel good. The purpose however is not the knowledge I have.

They enjoy what they do, why should I think anything about them? I like to cross dress. So what? Must we have a purpose to enjoy something?

Umm, I have no problem with it or them. They are just people like us expressing themselves. It makes them happy or entertained. I can't be mad at that. I'm all about self expression.
