I want to sell my timeshare, but I'm not comfortable handing over a fee of 695 over to a company to sell my timeshare. When I ask these companies why they have to get paid upfront, why not after the timeshare is sold, all I get is "It's an advertising fee"

I've done a lot of research on the internet and called numerous companies, so now they keep calling me. I even have a silly message on my machine that said "if you call us back within a half hour we will charge you 499 only"

If you are not comfortable paying to advertise then post on the free sites and use a broker at the same time. The best quote I have heard was 15% commission. I will provide links to free/cheap sites plus a broker

You are very smart. All those companies are ripping you off. Oh sure, they'll list it, but that's it.

As you are no doubt finding out, Timeshares don't resell that easily.

There's a Timeshare Users Group at www.tug2.net that may be able to help you. Also you might want to list it on Craigslist and Ebay. You'll see lots of listings on both of those sites.

If you just want to get rid of it and you don't care about money, you may be able to donate at www.donateforacause.org

Good luck.

To resale or rent a timeshare is a hard task, the basic rule is not to pay money up-front, don’t be another victim of a scam. There are some free classified adds where you can post it and get some results:

Try to sell it on eBay in the real estate section.
