The credit card companies are entitled to get paid for letting you buy things with their money. In order to stay in business, they charge you for that use.

If you don't pay, they will simply charge you more and more in late fees and interest.

You must call the company and explain what your situation is, and discuss with them a repayment plan that will fit your budget.

They do want to help, so be honest and ask for their help.

You still owe the money but are judgment proof because creditors can not levy on social security. Make sure you tell your creditors what the situation is.

your misjudgment does not save you == they will just keep charging interest and late fees if possible -- i would call them and try to work out some kind of payment plan!!!
